The company was set up by Zdzislaw Nietupski in 1978. Its main activities were designing and implementation of installations and gas grids. In 1984, the company started to produce steel boilers for central heating systems, powered with natural gas and fuel oil. In 1986, a production of electronic control of processes of premises heating using the above mentioned boilers was started. In 1988, additionally a production of accessories made of acid resistant steel for motor and sail boats was begun. Our customers are individual clients, shipyards and contractors from France and Germany. In 1998, the production of central heating boilers was stopped.

In 1998, a car servicing station was opened, along with a vehicle control station for vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons. In the same time, “Kotniz” became a dealer of Hyundai cars for north-east region. It offered a full range of services connected with exploitation of Hyundai cars until 2005, when it passed its dealer’s licence to another company from Bialystok, to concentrate on production and service activity in metal industry.

Nowadays, Kotniz is leading by Sebastian Nietupski ( owner's son ) and the company's activity includes:

• production of accessories made of acid resistant steel and aluminium for motor boats and sail boats, for national and foreign markets
• production of aluminium sliding doors for shipbuilding industry
• production of aluminium fire doors for construction
• production of bull’s eyes made of stainless steel for interior doors
• production of steering-wheels for yachts
• production and mounting of railings, barriers and various elements made of acid resistant steel
• services of laser cutting of steel, aluminium, titanium
• services of laser cutting of pipes and closed profiles
• services of metal sheet bending on a numerical bending brake
• services of pipe bending on numerical bending machines
